APRIL 27TH 2008

Crofton 0 - 9 Kells

Kellingley went to play a friendly knowing that they had had a bad season and were relegated from division 1 to division 2. Kellingley started strong in the first half of this game, with goal keeper Ellie Johnson keeping a clean sheet. Her four defencive player's of  Liam Palmer, Brandon McManus, Brandon Smith and Carl Hodgson kept it very tight at the back, with Crofton breaking through every now and again. Kellingley soon got of the mark with man of the match Dylan Hutchinson opening the scoring. It didn't take long for Kellingley to get four more goals in the first half. With Hodgson running from defence and playing some one-two football with midfield to make it 0-2. Sebastian Sternick and Jordan McManus helped to make the score 0-4. Kellingley's fith goal came from some excellent work from Dylan and Brett Smith combining together down the wing setting Brett up to score the goal. In the second half sub goal keeper Nathan Hutchinson also keeping a clean sheet with the help of his defence. With the midfield of Paul Chandler, Ryan Russel, Jack Walker and new player Billy, Kellingley kept the Pressure on with Jordan McManus scoring a penalty. Kellingley we're not happy with this score and scored 3 more goals by Brandon Smith, Sebastian Sternick and Brett Smith. Man of the match was well deserved Dylan Hutchinson.

MARCH 9TH 2008

Ackworth 4 - 3 Kells

When Kellingley last met Ackworth they were beaten 1-6.
Kellingley stayed strong, but Ackworth were the first to score, but Kellingley responded well with Brett Smith running down the line and crossing the ball into Jordan McManus for him to score.Kellingley kept the pressure with the defence of Brandon McManus, Brandon Smith Carl Hodgson and Liam Palmer trying hard to clear their line, but Ackworth broke through to get a second. Just before half time Kellingley got their 2nd with some good work from midfield of Ryan Russell, Nathan Hutchinson, Serbastion Sternick and Dillon Hutchinson setting the two strikers up of Jordan McManus and Brett Smith to do their job, the ball rebounded to Ryan Russell to make it 2-2. In the 2nd half Kellingley went down to 3-2 from Ackworth netting in the first five minutes, but Kellingley responded quickly with Sebastion \sternick getting Kellingley back on level terms. But Ackworth soon made it 4-3. Kellingley soon responded by hitting the cross bar twice and the post once.Kellingley could not get a draw for all their hard work. Man of the match was shared by Carl Hodgson and Brett Smith with help from the whole team.

FEBRUARY 23RD 2008

Kells 3 - 8 Walton Wolves

This was Kellingley u/11s emotional first game back after sudden loss of their coach Gary McManus. Kellingley went into this game with their heads held high, but Walton scored 2 within the first 10 minutes of the game. But Kellingley stayed strong, with good work from defence and midfield, This set captain Jordan McManus (Gary's son) to score to make it 1-2. But Walton came back strong and scored 3 more just before half time making it 1-5. Kellingley's heads did not go down and kept trying. In the second half with the introduction of a few subs Kellingley scored again with Jordan McManus getting his second. But once again Walton came strong again scoring 3, making it 2-8. But Kellingley had the last word, as they never gave up, In which Brandon Smith scored the third for Kellingley. Man of the match was a team effort, with Brandon McManus showing allot of steel (Gary's nephew).

OCTOBER 18TH 2007

Royston Dynamos 2 - 5 Kells

Kellingley were away to Royston. The hosts started off well with great moves, but bit was Kellingley who got on the score sheet first with a good finish from Brett Smith. Liam Palmer, Luke Kennedy, Brandon McManus and Brandon Smith all worked hard at the back but it was a slight error that allowed Royston to come back. None stop runner Josh Adams was strong in the middle so was Paul chandler who’s well timed pass through allowed Brett Smith in for his second. Another come back from Royston made it 2-2, none stop grafter Sebastian Sternik hard work allowed him to finished is shot well to make it 2-3. Good strong work from Ryan Russell, Liam Gregg and Nathan Frobisher all made threats towards the Royston defence. Good strong runs down the left wing from Jordan Rayner were out standing it wasn’t a surprise when one out off a number of shots hit the back of the net. Jack walker, Asher Goddard and Thomas Birkitt came on and also made impacts. Kellingley were starting to enjoy it and after a number of attacks it was Brett Smith who put the ball in the back off the net to get his hatrick. But it was the Ibbys & Nestle man of the match and new goalie Jordan McManus who pulled off some great saves, this was a well deserved victory all the players played there part, we must do the same again next week.

SEPTEMBER 13TH 2007

Kells 4 - 4 Pontefract S & S

This game was a great match from start to finish, kellingley started of the better first, and a free kick out side the 18 yard box allowed Luke Kennedy to hit the top right corner, a few more attempts from kellingley should have been buried. A corner cross from Brett smith landed at the feet of Jordan Rayner who finished it off well to make it 2-0. Then after a talk from Pontefract’s manager there heads came up and kellingleys heads went down thinking they were safe which allowed them to score 4 good goals. After a change in players for kellingley we were back on track, a corner from Jordan Rayner was finished by Ryan Russell to make it 4-3, a hand full of more shots should have been put to bed to make it safe. Nathan Frobisher, Dylan Hutchinson and Sebastian Sternik were all close to go on the score board. Another well struck corner from Jordan Rayner was greeted by Sebastian sternik to make it 4-4. Brandon McManus and Brandon smith both worked hard in defence were both contenders for the man of the match award, the IBBIS & Nestle man of the match went to Jordan Rayner.

SEPTEMBER 4TH 2007

Kells 3 - 0 Pontefract S & S

This was a good chance for kellingley to try out new players against good opposition, new keeper Liam Gregg was outstanding, and his well timed reactions were the key so were his defenders, Liam palmer, Luke Kennedy and two more new signings Brandon smith and Joshua Adams who kept Pontefract’s strikers at bay. Brett smith and Ryan Russell worked over time in the middle of the park. Brett smiths well timed pass to Jordan McManus who battled up front finished with accuracy. Joshua Adams had a chance to get on the score sheet just to see it go the wrong side of the bar, so did Nathan Hutchinson who cannot start the new season because he is a few weeks to young rocked the post with a well struck shot. A clearance from Pontefract keeper came out to Luke Kennedy who was 25 yards out thumped the ball in the back of the net. Brett smith finished the game of with a solo run to score. But Pontefract never stopped they had chances in the last 10 minutes but Liam Gregg kept a clean sheet.
