Tribute

We were saddened to hear of the recent passing of a Gary McManus.

We would appreciate if we can pass our condolences from all at Yorkshire Amateur JFC to Gary's family and also to Kellingley Welfare JFC.

It is extremely sad when anyone passes away, but for someone so young? Especially so.

We feel sure that Gary will have left an impression on all who he came into contact with, epecially the youngsters.

Gary's memory will last long in the minds of everyone at Kellingley for the work he did. His family can be proud of that work, both for the Club and the young people of Kellingley.

Tragic News

I have to inform everybody that Gary McManus suddenly died on Saturday at the tragically young age of 37 from a heart attack. He has been involved with every aspect of the Club for 5 years and will be sadly missed by all. Gary would do anything for anybody, nothing was too much trouble for him. The Club would not be as it is without the hard work and dedication of Gary. There is now a large hole in the Club without him and we are all shocked by this news. A great friend to all who met him and a fantastic coach to the teams he managed.

The whole Club is thinking about his wife Tania and his children and we send our deepest condolences to them and also thank them for supporting him over the years with his work with the Club.

The funeral is to be held at the Pontefract Crematorium at 1.00pm on Friday 15th February.

In memory of Gary we are renaming the "Clubman of the Year Trophy" to the "Gary McManus Clubman Trophy".

IMPORTANT - Club Rules & Code of Conduct

I want to remind everyone that we have a strict policy that ALL club players and players family members MUST abide by the Club Rules and Club Code of Conduct which you will find on this website and if needed can be printed. Failure to abide by the rules has a very negative effect on everybody involved with the club and WILL NOT be tolerated in any way and if necessary disciplinary action WILL be taken.
